Welcome to Chance to Smile

Welcome to Chance to Smile. We are a non-profit organization (EIN 20-8108998) founded in September of 2006 by two students at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center in San Antonio in an effort to help those born with a cleft lip and/or palate.

 Our objectives are to:

  • Raise awareness about the facial developmental abnormalities of cleft lip and cleft palate.

  • Educate the public about these conditions in hopes to reduce the social stigma associated with them.

  • Develop multi-disciplinary volunteer-run medical mission programs to provide the needy with cleft repair surgeries free of charge.

  • Present the most up-to-date news and information on medical progress in caring for patient  with a cleft.

  • Develop didactic lectures for families, healthcare professionals and students involved with or interested in the care of patients with a cleft.

  • Serve as an information portal of those interested in learning about these conditions.

  • Work with other involved organizations, institutions, or center dedicated to caring for patients with a cleft to maximize efficiency and delivery of care.

  • And to let those who suffer from these deforming abnormalities know that we care and we want to help them.

Our hope is that through educating the masses, children with these facial deformities face fewer social stigmas.

Our website is currently undergoing construction.

Please be patient as this process may take several days. Thank you.
